i know there is a few fish i cant put in with discus cuz they will suck on them or something but can i put a siamese algae eater in the tank with them or will they stick onto the sides of my discus?

Yes, they will.


Personally I wouldn't put any algae eater with my Discus, but some people claim to have good experiences with bristle nose pleco. Even then, I have heard a few stories of these guys not working out, and I personally wouldn't risk it.
 
ahh k thanks i guess ill just have to clean the discus tank a lil more =P which i dont mind really i think its fun to clean my fish tanks haha
 
If you're talking about a 'real' Siamese Algae Eater, which is often confused with the Flying Fox and Chinese Algae Eater, it will be fine, they don't have a sucker mouth.

Here is a real SAE:

Look for difference in fin shape, lateral line pattern and the full line extension to the tail for in the real :good:
 
If you have lots of algae you are feeding too much or have too much light for too long a period.

Probably down to the lighting as you need to do frequent water changes with Discus regardless. Trying shortening the amount of time the lights are on.
 
oh ya my tank has a timer light so its only on for bout 6-8 hours a day its not like the tank is dirty or anything
