Being new to shrimp keeping I acquired a TDS meter and I love how easy it is to just stick it in the water and receive a digital readout of the result. Is there an easy meter for the other parameters that we test water for? Something we donāt have to measure drops and wait 20 minutes for. It would be nice to have one meter check all of the usual parameters and I would think who ever invented something like that would become a millionaire quickly.
Iām not sure if this is a good idea or not, but I have been using the TDS meter to help me determine if I should do a water change, not only in the shrimp tank. The other day I checked one of my tanks and it read 400 so I did an immediate water change and got it down to 200. Does anyone else do this?
I also bought one of those little suction cupped ammonia readers for the inside of one of my more populated tanks, hoping to keep a better eye on that. Iāve never used one before.
