Hello, I have ran out of the usual antichlorine that I have been using. Wondering if it will be ok to use a different antichlorine for the water change?

What brand is it? (Please include a picture of the bottle, if possible)

What is the expiration date on the bottle?

Most dechlorinators contain the same basic ingredient (Sodium Thiosulphate). This stuff neutralises chlorine in water. Some dechlorinators contain chemicals to neutralise ammonia for a period of time. These are normally used if you have chloramine in the tap water.

But you can use different dechlorinators, just make sure whatever you get neutralises chlorine and chloramine and binds to ammonia if you have chloramine in your tap water.

But if it is past its expiration date, I don't suggest using it.
