Everything has been growing so fast that I could barely keep up with the trimmings and the hair grass is growing everywhere and I`ts hard to trim them or pluck them out without pulling some of the gloss out too....anyways I think it needs a total make over maybe this summer when i have time.....

Very nice tank! What is the size and dimensions, if you don't mind me asking? And is the blue-cheeked fish in the first photo of the "AFTER" photos an Acara, or no?

It`s standard 20 gallon US tank and that acara looking type fish is a nanacara anomala...

This is a lovely layout, very jungle-like and an ideal security provider for your fish.

Unfortunately most foreground, carpeting plants are high maintenance and need pulling out an re-planting at some stage. This is beneficial to the whole tank though as it gives the opportunity to vacuum some substrate and the physical removal and discarding of the plants brings about the permanent extraction of all sorts of nasties that the plants have uptaken.
