Diatoms And Dark Brown Algae On Swords And Anubius

Can anyone tell me what the algae is that usually covers plants like anubius and swords , you know the dark brown stuff thats a nightmare to get off . How do you stop it in the first place . And diatoms how do you stop this stuff too ???

well the brown algae usually covering everything at the early stages of an aquaruim is brown algae or diatomic algae hehe you already know what it is

its a common and actually for me normal algae since it SHOULD only appear in the first few weeks when you setup a new tank. You could just lightly wipe it away and if your tank parameters are good it will just dissapear.
