Are those freshwater or brackish? I've heard both. Always wanted to try those. I like that yours, unlike many pictures I see, have beaks that aren't all bashed in.

These do occur in both freshwater and brackish waters. But mine are kept in freshwater. They do well in there.
Well, halfbeaks can be fighters and damage their beak. But thusfar, mine have always been friendly among eachother. I'm keeping mine with redtail splitfins.
