Okay after much debating and thinking i've decieded to maybe consider thhinking about a new tank. I was gonna get a 6 foot but then decieded against it, due to space and money. But now i am thinking of getting a very deep 4 foot tank made. My tank is currently a standard 4 foot, 120x45x45cm and i was thinking something along the lines of 120x45x 75-90. But my question is would i really gain much from this besides a huge volume of water, and what about lighting?

I personally would not go for a 3' deep tank if its only going to be 18" front to back. You will have difficulty reaching the bottom. you will pay more for the tank as the glass would need to be 15mm thick, and it could be hard to aquascape. I'm not saying it would be impossable but you could find it hard to maintain. lighting would need to be more intense if you want to keep corals at the bottom of it. If its just a bigger water volume your after, then why not go for a large sump?
