I have been looking at some of the tank pictures and i need some help with decorating my tank.

I had a real plant (Sorry don't know the type) but all these nasty snail things came off it, I also had this greek monument thing that just looked rubbish so i currently have nothing in it except for gravel & fish.........any ideas

I like the driftwood but not too sure if it will look right and i love plants but don't want to get snails.

If i got some rocks like "Squids" tank do i have to get special rocks from my LFS??? :)

Thanks again :)

what fish do you have? where are they from?

how big is your tank,

Your best buying rock from your LFS although some sone can be added quite freely

I have 2 Rosey Barbs & I spotted Molly (and 1 currently dying) and a platy

My tank is 125 litres

Before you buy anything for your tank to look nice lets get your tank heathy. You need to go out and get a master test kit, not a dip kit. One that uses water from tank and you add cems. I do not mean to be mean but until your fish are heathy you are just throwing your money away.

You are not being mean at all Shelly - i appreciate all the helpful advice i am getting from this forum :)

I think rather than asking my LFS to do the water tests i should do it myself so i can tell you all what ph etc my tank is.

Are the tests easy to use and i am a bit of a novice at all this (As you can probably tell) :)

They are vary easy to use. Once you get the tools you need to keep your tanks at top shape your love for fish will get even bigger!
Can you post a pic of your tank?

Yes, if you tell me how - I have a picture of it on my PC

:)

Go to the topic members tanks and click new topic say what you want then go down to a botton that says "brouse" hit that then double click you pic.

Good link

A bit bear in there. Fish really need some where to hide, from you, from each other. That may be one of your problems.
Now you need to ask your self do I want to go natural w/ plants and bog wood(does not need to be real plants)
or do I want to go fantesy?

I have everything out as i wasn't happy with how it looked :)

I like the idea of plants, but the plastic ones at my LFS look really rubbish, Can you recommend anyone online??

I like the plants and bogwood idea :)

There are some great looking low light plants that do not need spical lights or CO2. Bog wood you can get at your LFS. You need to boil them a bit before putting in your tank and it will give a yellow cast to your water but it is good for your fish and if you are doing water changes it does not get to dark.

You could get silk plants, they look a lot more realistic than the plastic ones.
