I was curious if someone could help me.( I will provide pictures to help explain)
Im not too aware of the diseases tropical fish can develop so was wondering if someone could help explain what has happened to my Pleco. I noticed that it had been missing so after being unable to locate it I lifted out the large cave ornament to find it had been floating at the top, now covered in a strange translucent slime. It had a few days previous been acting strange, sudden jumping swims to the surface, and doing a strange rapid motion at the top, then floating back down. repeatedly, but then it stopped after that day.

Not much has changed recently withing my tank, but i am unsure of my water ph levels and such to help pinpoint the cause. My Siamese fighter has recently attempted a bubble nest, could this of effected anything? The tank contained only 1 siamese fighter, 1 pleco and 5 neon tetra. The siamese fighter did take a few chunks out of the slime too...
Some images to show the pleco. The tank is not unclean, the flakes are just before the pictures were taken.
Overview of tank, bubble nest by siamese fighter on right.
