Here are the results so far for the 10 gallon tank I have set up.
I reused gravel, plants and bog wood from an old cold water tank.
Tap Water
pH 7.5
Ammonia mg/l 0.1
Nitrate mg/l 10
Nitrite mg/l 0
Temperature -
Degree Celcius
Date 06/12/02
pH 7.5
Ammonia mg/l 0.1

pH 7.5
Ammonia mg/l 0.2
Nitrate mg/l 10
Nitrite mg/l 0.1

Stocking
08/12/02 2 Platys 1 died within a matter of hours and replaced by another on 9/12/02
Now showing traces of Nitrite so I assume the cycle has started.
How high do I let the nitrite go before I change some water?
Is testing every other day OK or do I need to go daily?
Thanks
Jerry
