If you have lots of live plants, they will use ammonia so hopefully you'll never find ammonia in the water. But yes, if you do, a water change will get it down - and nitrite if you ever find any of that.
Colin gave you a choice of plants to look at. Water sprite as a floating plant is particularly good - as it floats on the surface it also has access to lots of light and carbon dioxide from the air so it can grow fast, and fast growing plants take up ammonia faster. I have never found water sprite in a shop but there are lots of sellers on Ebay. They might call it water sprite or ceratopteris.
 
Nice 1 mate gunna check tonight if my ammonia 0 I'm gunna do a big water change wait till Gomez get 1 oranda and some plants and go from there
