So we are moving and have a good size spare room that has a great wall for a big tank. I was giving my husband a hard time for wanting a $600 down hill mountain bike. I have also been a mess because my old dog is on her way out :-(. So he said lets make a deal you can get a bigger fish tank if you sell 3. I said DEAL!!!

I'm looking at keeping my 100gal for the disucs, angles, and my one festivum. I will sell my 55 gal (I have been holding on to) 36Gal and 80Gal. Then I would have a 150gal or maybe even a 180gal ;). The new tank would be for my big boys I have now. SO I will not have to sell or even think about selling any of them. I'm pretty excited about that.

All I need to do is add extra floor suports to the house and I should be good to go. The thought of a new tank might help with the lose of my 16 year old dog too. God this year is off to a crazy start.

Ace news! Bet your chuffed. I've got to figure out how to get my O/H to let me get a 6x2x2 (180G). Dare i even mention "what plans" have you got for the potential tank yet  You know you've already had the plans roll through your brain, so share them! :good:

Gutted for your dog, sorry to hear.

I'm boring. I'm just going to keep the stock I have and not get any other fish. Unless you guys think I should hahah.

Here is the Plan for stocking.

180Gal -150gal But I did find a nice deal on a 180 so we will see :hey:

1 True parrot
2 Severums
2 Uarus
1 blue acara
1 Ebjd (Runt 4")
2 pictus cats
1 Spotted Rubbernose pleco
1 Clown pleco
1 Buffalo Head
Maybe I would add my Festivum to this tank if he gets much larger.

Thats what I have in the 100 gal right now and they get along but I think they will like eachother even better with more space. I don't think I need to add any more fish because the parrot could get to be 10+"

5ft 100gal
8 Discus
pair of angles
1 festivum
10 Cory cats
2 Bn plecos
Some random left over tetras I have. I tried to keep them with large cichlids and most became lunch but a few I still have. I would like a school of Emperor tetras I love them.

See the tanks would be full with out any new fish. But I did have my eye on that chocolate cichlid......

Thanks pepper had an amazing life for a pound puppy. She has done the cross country trip and seen most of the whole east coasy. She has been the best dog. Thanks.

Yeah, Exciting news about the tank ! I have found that going up from an 80G to a 150G as my biggest tank has opened up a lot more possibilities in terms of stock than I had before.

Really sad, though, to be losing a beloved cat or dog. We love them so much, and it hurts when they go.

I know exactly how you feel about your dog getting old, my 15 year old lady is not good, she hasnt been since we lost one of our others to cancer last year.

Big tank sounds lovely.

Ughh... so sorry about pup but I'm sure she had an awesome life with you and it is likely she is more ready than you are. My thoughts on pet death is that they always leave something with you and that you always lose a part of you with them. Take care of yourself.

I was telling my husband your story and he feels that your husband is getting the raw end of the deal and thinks he should be spending far more on a downhill bike. He could not fathom a bike for $600. Now this could work to your advantage....

Gee Honey, why don't you spend $3000 on that new downhill bike.
(A month later) Well YOU got a $3000 BIKE, I should get at least that much in tanks, gallons, and fish!!!!!!

:hey: :hey: :hey: :hey: :hey: :hey: :hey: :hey: :hey:

I'll take the 36 gallon...its a bow front right?

P.S. I need to see this all ya know. Let me know if you need a weekend day of labor. Happy to come down.

thanks everyone. Your right she is more ready then I'm to let her go. I have been getting ready for this.

As for the 36gal bow front it's yours it has a nice light for growing plants that will go with it. I might throw in the filter and heater too. Sorry it does not have a stand.

As for the bike it's a Kona full suspention 2005 and it's a friend that is selling it. Normaly these bikes used go for $1000 so it's a good deal. The tank I get has to be no more then $600 so it too will be used.

Thanks all for the kind words.

i think round numbers are so much easier to work with , so instead of going for a 150 or 180 why not just round it up to a nice round 200 :hey:

Yeah a 200gal could be nice but space and money is a problem also will my floor hold that .

on big tanks like that if you go acrylic the tank itself is around 50% lighter :good: not sure how they compare on price tho

Haha yeah a 200 might be nice and there is one for sale near me. But I'm thinking now get a 180gal and keep my 80gal because I really like the size of it. Hummm...

not that i want to be a bad influence or anything lol but if i had brokered a deal for a big upgrade id be squeezing out every last gallon i could :hey:

Yeah but space is a issue the 200 gal is 8'x2'x2' so it 240 US Gal. but its glass and would weight a ton. The 180gal is acrylic and 6x2x2 I think thats the perfect size. Unless I had a huge house.

Ditto. I'd actually remove a couch to get an extra 6ft onto the end of a tank ;)
