Crypt Planting For Noobs

Alright so this is my first crypt and I was wondering just how to plant it correctly. Do these tuber things (are they rhizomes?) go under the substrate or above the substrate?

Stick it in until you just see the tops of the bulbus things. The bulbus things are call root crowns. Techincally you can create a new plant with every root crown you see. This is how I spread my crypts. I divide the plant, but you don't need to go this far.
