I crossed copper alien and cobalt green alien(which was born from a cross between cobalt blue female and male).
The result corresponds to the article below if cobalt green is equal to turquoise in genotype.
Which says "
  • Copper/gold x turquoise green: all green with variable metallic expression present.

This is interesting since Bl bl hetero is usually blue.
It seems the + gene inherited from copper betta makes Bl bl hetero child looks green.
This suggest that + gene is dominant.

Without the + gene, the copper betta fish were simply a steel blue color, the blue/green (“teal”) betta was royal blue, and the dark metallic green betta was turquoise.(inserted from the link above)

I am thinking of taking F2.
Maybe I could get dark metallic green betta with percentage of 6.25%(=1/16).
I have never seen dark metallic green alien betta in Japan.

very interesting!
i hope you can get some dark green baby bettas!
