Crab Id

[Fish Fingers]

Got this sucker in some LR yesterday. Not sure what type he is but he doesn't look very reef safe to me (but then again I don't trust crabs )

If someone good ID him that would be great .

"Good day mate" Looks to me like Mithrax Crab (emerald crab). Good asset to a tank and reef safe. Give the two names a google see if you agree. As for not trusting crabs, no worries mate these are B).If im right??

Thanks for the reply "mate" . I had a feeling mithrax crabs would be green all over and wouldnt have hair? The images I got with google didnt look much like the one I've got . Oh well I'll guess I'll see what some other people say I could be wrong (i've never seen one in real life anyway so I'm not wuite sure what they look like).

Last time I got LR I got a bunch of hitchhiker crabs and didn't think of pulling them out. Then i started to lose hermits, and one night saw a crab attacking on of them . That's why I want to make sure before I put this sucker back in.

Well, i know what u mean about not trusting crabs but if he came on the rock, hes probably reef safe.

Not necessarilly RGPH there are loads of inverts that can be imported in to home aquria on LR that are bad or disatorious (sp) to reefs
