Hi all, I have had a planted tank for a while now. I'm hoping to go high tech soon! My tank is a Lido 120l.

I have 2 x 24w T5 Juwel Lamps, at the moment no co2 and don't dose any fertiliser.

I am getting some hair algae on my plant leafs, which I put down to low Co2 and lack of nutrients?

I am going to get a Nutrafin yeast-based CO2 unit for the time being until I can afford and get around to a better system, do people find them affective?

I also am going to start dosing liquid feed, I have been told Tropica Plant Nutrition Plus is a good product to use, but I can't find any online?

Thanks for your time!
Any other advice would be appreciated!

Dont bother with the DIY yeast CO2.
Instead, cram in lots of plants and floating plants, dose Easycarbo everyday as well as Tropica Plant Nutrition+ everyday.
Weekly water changes.
Should sort you until you get pressurized. You might find that you dont need to.
Manual removal of algae is always advised.

Ok thanks for the advice! I will got hold of those products ASAP.
I have the hair algae on the leaves of plants, and some leaves are quite delicate, this plant mainly.

Am I missing a trick getting it off or is it just a case of being careful? Also the tips of the leaves are slightly brown is this just due to little nutrition?

Thanks Again!

The easycarbo will help a bit in killing the algae but lots of folk use a toothbrush and twirl it to pull off the hair algae. Brown tips sounds like lack if nutrition
