Ah! me old Tree huggin buddy. I'm surprised that its taking this long for you to spot an opportunity to show off your camera skills.
Some nicely maturing plants in there squire you sure know how to pull the strings with those Acers. the first picture is spooky as I have all those plants except the one in the foreground in my garden. That background plant can really be invasive and is a nightmare to control year in year out, but it is a nice plant so I keep persevering with it. The last enhanced picture I do feel is a stunning piece of work and would look well framed and hung on a wall. I like that.
And there's me thinking you were a tree specialist, what's wrong, have you given up on bark munchin. :p

Keep you eye on those Acers Bud especially that last pot.
Everything is really growing well, do you use fertilisers or is it still the natural method seeing as you've done away with the inside loo :p
Nice pics Bud.

Last acer is Shiotake...mate nearby imports mature acers for landscapers so got at cost,lol...has some beauties, got 20 foot golden bamboo from him too.
As for fertilizer..yep..chicken manure pellets each spring..i swear by them,lol..When moved here garden was heavy clay so dug in a lot of peat, sand and manure into beds before planting out..now growing so well abit of thinning out and a new bed or two will be required i think!!
Start of a free style oriental garden in the making..well that's the plan anywho,lol...next big job will be digging out large pond to transfer aquatics ( and his fish) out of temporary padling pool pond,lol...

Neat Bud,
Shiotake I think I've come across that before somewhere.
Problem is, over this direction the big dedicated garden centres charge an absolute fortune for Acers. Real silly prices.
I tend to buy them at around 12"-24" and grow them own bit I do have my eye on a large specimen tree so I'm saving hard lol.
Like the Lobelia cardinalis in the make-shift pond and the Waterlilly. I hope mine flowers this year. How does the fern fair under those conditions
Are you going with a landscaped pond or a more formal brick/block affair.

The pond will be more informal to suit the plans...heavy planting will be a must, lol !!!
Thr ferns are counter sunk in their own pots a few inches, thus keeping them constantly wet but not waterlogged.....
Lily cost a grand £3.99 , inc ing food pelets, basket and aquatic soil from that well known German low budget supermarket..worth watching out for...the bull rushes the same , costing £2.99 per set.

A nice acer to search out mate..leaves start pink after budding, with this fading out to the leaf edge during summer and turrent classical acer colours in the autumn..
when the leaves are dropped it reveals stunning red branches on the two previous years growth.

A few flowers around today, not really my thing but they keep the other half happy,lol...

Bit wet this summer, no change there, for the agapanthus but they tried

Note, behind the lobelia cardinalis, the bullrush produced it's first flower spike this year

Beautiful peony there..I have a five year old purple tree peony here that only flowered for the first time this year...crocs will give you a stunning blast of colour too, also make a good cut flower for the house.
