I was just wondering if this could be a type of fissiden and is it likely to grow fully submerged and how is the best way to train it to being submerged?

Thanks

it certainly looks like it, but just be aware that there is a myriad of land moss that looks like fissiden. Chuck it in some water and see what happens. :good:

I will try growing it in a terriamum for a bit and then hopefully gradually add more water until it is submerged, that way if it does go backwards or die off I can whip it out and keep it dryer.

Thanks

Ian might be right about he land moss, Fissidens is generally darker, mine grows under high light, it grows quite fast and doesn't get that light green.

The Australian native fissidens I have seen seem to be pale green like the one in the picture, but even US fissiden is not a common aquarium plant over here. From memory it was only growing in the shadiest spots on some tree trunks and rocks, with plenty of moist air from being at altitiude and nightly fogs and regular rain.
