Hello,

having a hard time controling algae, I was wondering if I could use a commerical algae remover for a little to get rid of all of that nasty stuff. I'm just scared because i'm using a mixture of chemicals, and don't want something to happen and the fish to die. I'm using Stress Coat for water conditioner, Flourish Tabs, Leaf Zone and Kent Pro Plant

Do you think the algae remover will hurt the fish, or be hard on them in any way? Agian i'll only be using this till' the algae goes away.

Thanks,

DL

Are you using Co2?

What WPG is your lights?

How long do you leave the lights on?

What kind of algae are you having problems with?

Are you using Leaf Zone and Kent Pro plant at the same time?

Avoid the algae remover and try to figure out the source of the problem.

If you do have to use an algae chemical the best is by far JBL Algol which you can get from Aquaessentials. But this wont sort the root cause. I see you're using leaf zone and kent plant pro? I would ditch the leaf zone, its basically just iron, and there will no doubt be plenty of iron in the plant pro so you're probably ODing on iron which would be the cause of the algae.

Not used plant pro before, but looking at the description I reckon there are better trace mixes.
