my little cory started with a small area of scale loss but over past few days has gotten bigger. any ideas what this could be? he's currently still in 300l community tank, i dont have a hosp tank but do have a tank with my betta in so should i put him in there and if so how do i medicate and with what?thanks.

In the pic it looks like a white patch with some pink in the white patch is this correct.
 
yes it is pinkish but its scale loss rather than growing over the scales
 
Its bacterial and it looks bad to me.
Uk bacterial meds are not that strong and only really treat mild bacterial infections.
Anti internal bacteria med by interpet.

shall i leave him in the community tank to medicate? i could move him into the betta tank but that would mean medicating the betta as well.
 
Its always best to issolate a sick fish.
As when you use meds to often the fish build a resistance up to them.
I would treat the whole tank.
Don't forget to increase aeration in the tank as meds reduce 02 in the water.
 
Can you put the betta in a breeding trap in the community tank and treat the cory in his tank? I've done this before. If you really have to, you can put him in a large jar. It's still bigger than pet shop cups.
