My 2 bottom dwelling corys (who are always side by side - ahhh) have suddenly become very animated & are displaying odd behaviour. It doesn't seem aggressive & I wonder if they're mating. How can I tell (other than wait for babies of course!).

How long have you had them? How big is the tank?

Corys do far better when in groups of 6 plus. If you have enough space I would up the numbers.

In cory mating behaviour the male chases the female, then they form a "T" shape. The female will deposit the eggs on a flat surface like the sides of your tank or under the leaves of a broad leaf plant. Spawning can usually be initiated by doing a water change or a drop of temperature which imitates the changes of the seasons.

Here's a video of my corys spawning, ignore the amazing tunes if you can ;)

Or are they just kind of flying all over the glass of the tank? Shooting up and down the tank? This is normal as well and mine often do it at night, just before and after lights out but it's not spawning, just having a good time :)
