Hi guys.
Im thinking about trying corals again but want to know if my lighting will be good enough. I run 2 54w T5's with reflectors. From waters surface to sand bed is a couple of inches short of 2 feet, but I have some high rockwork, some of which is right at the surface. Are my lights good enough for corals? I know maybe not hard corals but what about softies, toadstools, leathers xenia ect?

I'd have thought Mushies and Toadstools wuld be OK, they seem to prefer moderate light levels, also I've been trying for months to get rid of some Green star Polyps, by shading them out, but have failed so far even with another piece of LR on top of them! so I should think they will grow anywhere in youtr tank-word of caution grow them on a single rock, or they will take over your tank!
Zoas are good hardy choices as well, although they like bright light, I've found that they adapt quite well to lower light intensities-you may not have the intensity of colour lower down tho-word of caution, Zoas contain a powerful neurotoxin, so do read up on them before you delve so to speak.

Agree....near the bottom I think the lighting will be good for softies for the most part at 2 feet deep. SH

Ok cheers guys
I got myself a pussy coral and some clove polyps today so I will see how they get on. After seeing lots of great open brains and euphyllia today im thinking about upgrading my lighting soon so I can keep these, depending on how my softies get on!
