Do coral chips raise ph? If so, how much would I need to raise 580 litres from a ph of 7.6 to 8..is there a scientific way to calculate or even a rough rule of thumb or is it a case of add some test water, add some more, test water etc.....think I'll test water regularly anyway but would like to know roughly how much I'd need so that I can price up.

Cheers

coral raises pH, but it also evaporates over time(or so im told), so you would just need to regulary check the tank for levels

each tank set-up would raise or lower the pH depending on the actual set-up of the tank, so its not a scientific answer im afraid

I personally perfer baking soda over "coral chips" Baking Soda can be weighed and dosed (brings in your inner crack addict  Just joking)
