I have had plastic and silk plants in my tanks, but in looking at everyone's pictures decided I really wanted to go to live plants. So I ordered a bunch of plants online and spent 4 hours last night redoing my 30 gallon.
I built a rock cave, and seeded it with java and Christmas moss. I got a piece of driftwood and seeded it with both mosses, then once those were in the tank I planted the rest. I have ground cover (non-moss) and larger plants and I love it! I added a fermentation CO2 injection system and am waiting for everything to settle so I can take pics!
I left the fish in during this process except for the fry (community livebearer tank), so I added the fry back and now they can spread out into all of the natural hiding areas vs. The nursery I had made them of dense plants in one corner....everyone is loving the change!
