Hi we have just had our whole tank wiped out in a couple of days. First signs of stress were on Friday evening when they didn't eat. Then we treated with wide spectrum treatment but over the weekend they have all turned belly up!

From what I can see it was columnaris bacterial infection as the fish all had white fluffy bits and skin slime by the time they died.

Just wondered if we need to completely restart the tank and sterilise everything off or can we do a partial water change and start gradual restocking. Thanks

Any pictures of the fish?
Did you test the water for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and pH?

How long was the tank set up for?
How often did you do water changes and how much did you change?

What sort of filter is on the tank?
How often and how did you clean the filter?

How long did you have the fish for?
Did you add anything to the tank in the 2 weeks before this happened?

Excess mucous is usually caused by poor water quality or something in the water irritating the fish.
