Short background summary:
One of my tanks is infected with tape worms, and I suspect the 45 gal has minor infections as well since I’ve seen some stringy poops. These tapeworms seem to have been infecting the fish for months with no symptoms. 2 weeks ago, I dosed Seachem Excel 3 days in a row. Immediately after this, one of the rainbows lost his color, became lethargic, stopped eating, and lastly developed white growths on his mouth the day before passing. I chalked it up to Columnaris induced by the stress of Gluteraldehyde + Tapeworms. I ran a treatment of Maracyn 2 over the last week since it’s the best I had on hand to combat the Columnaris. I didn’t see any other symptoms and other fish are doing good.
After pulling the Maracyn 2 out of the water, I dosed Levamisole yesterday (Sunday) to combat the suspected worms. This morning, one of the Tetras has a mass of white clumping up his mouth. I suspected Columnaris, so I immediately moved him to a QT tank. In the QT I noticed that the white is no longer on his mouth, which leads me to suspect it could be fungus that fell off the old tank? For now I will follow through with the Levamisole treatment for the next 24 hours and watch for symptoms from there. Any and all advice appreciated.
