One of my tanks, 75 gallon, i got up and going this weekend and i have the Redsea co2 because it will do up to 40 gallons i believe. Obviously its not enough, but i can't find any that does more unless i DIY. I was thinking of just buying 2 Redsea co2.
Anyone ever heard of any that is made for bigger aquariums. This will become main tank when i get the lighting up and going so, i want great plant growth.

Thanks in advance, Nash

For bigger tanks the best way is pressurized co2. But since its expensive you can add multiple co2 of those red sea systems or add one or more DIY co2 systems.
DIY is not enough for big tanks unless you use multiple at the same time.
And bare in mind that on a tank that size, only pressurized is efficient.

So are you saying that even if I got 2 Red Sea that they aren't efficent enough to do anything? :(

Do you have a picture of your system.Dunno the red system. Don't want to give a bad advice.

Can you give me more info on your red sea system?pictures?
But the idea is that for a bigger tank you need pressurized because it gives a flow of co2 good enough to supply a tank that big.
But theres people that have been sucessfull with other systems. The problem is the output of co2 varies with this system its not a continuous flow.
There's alot of ways to do it,DIY solutions, chemicals like easycarbo,Tablets to put in the tank the problem is the efficiency of those system in a tank as big as yours.
I work in litres but i did a conversion of your 75 gallons,in the imperial gallons thats 350 litres, in the US its 3280. Either of those its a massive tank and a whole lot of water.

Depends also on the type of tank you wanna have.

Okay here is a pic of the box. It does come with a pump that is constantly pushing out the bubbles, still not sure if good enough and yeah this will be a heavily planted tank as i loveeeee aquascaping lol

I do not know that system.
I keep to what i said, for big tanks pressurized is the way.
But i'm not saying you should spend money,or even that its impossible.
Quite the contrary. Its quite possible,i know people that do not use any co2 at all and have beatifull planted tanks.
Just plan a tank that suits your needs.
Suggestion?
Use plants that do not require much to grow. So called easy to keep plants.
They will grow slower due to the lack of a great source of co2,but eventually they will grow.
Also this way it won't require a big amount of light or fertilizers. And less hours caring and doing maintenance on your part.
Stick to your system for start. If you are not happy with the results add one or 2 DIY co2 systems.
If your still not happy then well ...you know the answer.
But i don't recomend you going spend money untill you know what you can do with what you got.
Specially if you are a begginer, adding a constant source of co2 is also adding a constant source of work with your tank.

Okay, great. I think I'll start with 2 of red sea co2 and buy my lights and see what happens. Start with easier plants and hope for best. Thx a lot for the advice. :)

This is effectively a DIY CO2 system but done in a bottle with a fancy label on it, nothing more.

You have to go down the Fire Extinguisher DIY route or a purpose built (JBL) compressed Co2 route on a tank that size.

Yes you do need pressurized for a tank that big. I don't use fire extinguisher nor the jbl. But i have pressurized. I told before that pressurized is the best way for is tank. But its quite expensive so i don't feel ok to tell a beginner to spend money on it unless they really know what they are doing. i was told once pressurized is only good if you know what you are doing.

Okay, so anyone know a site I can at least look up a dIY co2, how to and such. I'd like to research it. I got this big a tank for aquascaping so it is important. My 35 gallon is a planting haven and I love it so much I needed bigger, lol. Even if I can't afford if expensive right now, I can prepare myself for what i will require in the next few months and not waste money on buying another Red sea unit.

You guys are great thx for being so helpful
