I bought myself one of these after some good reviews on here and elsewhere:

I have a glass ceramic diffuser that I was using up until installing this, that is now back in there.

So the system is 2kg FE -> reg + solenoid -> co2 airline -> check valve -> bubble counter -> check valve -> diffuser (with airline in between of course)

I stuck the new atomiser in and got no bubbles, I can put a picture of my reg up to show the pressure later if needed, but the water from the bubble counter ended up making it's way back towards the reg (despite check valve) and when I turned the co2 off this reached the check valve. I'm guessing my pressure isn't high enough from the FE/reg, is that correct? Is there any way for me to still use it as even turning the needle valve up didn't help it just eventually stopped letting bubbles out because the pressure in the tubing was too high where no gas was coming out of the atomiser.

Any help (before I sell this and stick with the glass diffuser) will be welcome.

What reg do you have buddy ? The atomizer you have needs atleast 2 bar of working pressure to work. I had one and was running it at 2.4 bar.

Many regulators have fixed working pressures and some allow you to adjust the working pressure.

This is the reg I have:

Any idea how to work out the working pressure from that in bar?

Just to be clear, the check valves are the right way round...

Looks like a fixed working pressure reg that one mate, when i ran mine i was using an adjustable reg.

when you was running the atomizer what readings did you have on the dials ?

Isn't the big tap thing with HSL on the front turnable?.... i would imagine that would adjust the working pressure if it does.

I dont think it is adjustable, I got one from china made by up, same sort of regulator/needle valve/solenoid all in one jobby, mine does work with the same Atomiser and im using a 2kg FE. as said above what are the dial pressures on when the system is running.

this is the one I got, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CO2-Regulator-Dual-Gauged-Solenoid-Magnetic-Valve-A153-/160412057871?pt=UK_Pet_Supplies_Fish&hash=item25594dc10f#ht_2878wt_1037

I would not recommend the model I have as the solenoid broke within 4 months of use and of course the hong kong guys only give a 30 day guarantee.

Dials read (and have always read): left one 0.18 / 25, right one 6 / 800

No it's not adjustable, seems it just doesn't work at a high enough pressure and I'll have to make do with the ceramic diffuser until I can get a better reg. Cheers for the info everyone.
