Hi, OK I have just got a couple of clown loach. They seem to be just fine but the this morning I woke to find them both in my Rena Smart Heater. The good thing is that the heater does not get that hot so they are fine no burn. I am just worried that they are gonna get stuck in there. What is the best thing for me to pack the hole with.. All your advise would be great.

Thanks for that will give a go. I had also thought about a bit of plastic hose like what you get with a gravel vac.

Hi the pad thing did not work it started to mess up sensor in the heater, but thanks for the idea anyway. I did sort it tho using some netting and a rubber band. Once again thanksyou.

How much did you try to jam in ? lol

Well the net seems an even better idea ;)

Glad you sorted it

Tony

Not that much honest lol, And to top it off the new clown loach have now got white spot so now dealing with that. As nice as they are they really need to toughen up a bit. Thanks for all your help

Hiya,

I am treating 'in tank' for ich :(

Had it once months ago for the first time ever in a smaller tank, used the interpet medication and all was cleared up pretty quickly

A new opaline gourami (amazing markings) has what i was sure was ich, i went with api medication, to be honest that did nothing, now i've litterally just started a course with interpet medication, hopefully before the next dose is due i should see a speedy recovery as i did previously

None of the loaches or any other fish show signs of ich, but i'm sure a female guppy must have it as she's trying to scratch/scrape herself on substrate and plants (no signs on her though so i'm keeping fingers crossed she treats fast being a lot smaller than the gourami)

Luckily i can intice most fish close to the glass so i try to inspect them for any signs of ich, as said only the gorgeous opaline shows visual salt spots thus far

Hopefully your ich will treat quickly

And yeah clown loaches like gourami's so i read are very susceptible to ich (weird in a way, some of the most stunning fish have a kind of immune weakness)

Well i sure hope the ich treatment goes well :)

Thanks, I am using Waterlife Protozin Whitespot & Fungus, It seems to be doing just fine though Cardinals and Loaches are the only fish that are showing Whiespot. I am following the guidelines 4ml for every 60L so I have a 110L but only 92L of water due to plants and Decor so using 6ml. Have been using for 2 days and today did a 20% water change, will let the fish settle before the 3rd dose. Then I have to wait to day 6 before the last dose but will do another water change on day 5. Also have increased the temp from 26 to 28 over a couple of days. Will let you know how I get on and fingers crossed all the fish will still be alive.

Hi sorry did not get back to you sooner, Would like to say thanks for all your help once again. As for the whitespot all gone :good: all the fish are alive and they seem to like the warmer temp of 28C so I have kept it at that. Hope that I can you out in the future.
