Cleanup Crew.....

Hello all....

I just had a quick question about cleanup shrimp, crabs, snails...ect....

I don't have a cleanup crew atmo, and I want to add one ASAP...but I've only seen things at the LFS that I'm pretty sure are not sutable for my tank....

I've seen:

Arrow crabs

Hermit crabs

horse-shoe crabs


Can any of you offer advice on what sort of crew I should be looking for?

at the moment the tank holds a 2 damsels
2 percula clowns
1 chocolatechip starfish
and an angel...(not sure of the name atmo....)

Tough to reccomend the numbers of each without knowing the size of the tank, but you should be looking for a smattering of some or all of the following:

Blue or Red Leg Hermits
Astrea Snails
Turbo Snails
Nassarius Snails
Perhaps a cleaner srhimp or two depending on tank size and other inhabitants

NP. My tank is similar in size to yours at 45 gallons, and here's what I have in it so far:

10 blue legs
4 red legs
6 turbo
6 nassarius

By no means do you have to add all your CC at once, so dont worry that much about it if your LFS doesnt get stock in constantly. I dont have any fish in there yet so no need for cleaner shrimp
