Hi folks, my hospital tank is empty after euthanizing with clove oil, and everything in the tank smells of clove and thereā€™s a sticky film on the bottom of the tank. I now see why the instructions were to euthanize in a separate container. I guess I have two questions:
1) how do you normally clean a hospital tank after a sick and potentially contagious fish has been living in it?
2) How should I clean this tank, given the sticky residue?

Thank you as always; you-all have been so helpful with learning how to keep our fish healthy.

I'm not sure you'll ever get rid of clove oil from the tank :( I only ever used clove oil with bare hands once and it took days to get the smell off my skin (which is why I now use rubber gloves)

For cleaning a fish tank without clove oil, giving it a good scrubbing in water then leaving it to dry completely, preferably in sunlight, should kill pathogens.
