I recently purchased several used tanks for a steal. I have one with a calcium or mineral deposit that looks like white cloudy crud. ) I have tried bleach, scraping, and the lfs suggested CLR. Nothing is really doing the job. It is not too bad to live with but I want the tank as clear as possible. Does anyone have a clue what to do? I have scrubbed until my hands are sore. This crud is also on a lid that I have had for some time, it cleaned up okay but I know there is a solution. I have a well and my water is pretty hard. If I can't get rid of it can I at least control it? Thanks, I love the forum......Browneyes
Browneyes, I used to work in a produce department where we used cut lemons to remove deposits. Seems that this would be safe enough for fish. Lots of elbow grease though!
