Hi,

Right, this is a really stupid question, but here goes... I just bought a new treatment for my tap water to remove the chlorine and chloramine. However I noticed that the dosage is a bit ambiguous. It says something like 'add half a capful per 50 litres and 1 capful per 100 litres'. What I was wondering is does this mean you calculate the dosage according to the water you're adding to the tank, or according to the volume of the whole tank itself? I would have assumed the former, except 100 litres (26 US gallons) seems an awful lot for one water change!

What do you think?

I would assume it's the former, it's the water that you're putting in that you're treating - not the water already in there. 100 litres might not be a lot depending on the size of tank I guess.

Having said all that, I've just realised that I over-treated my water last night cos I got the maths wrong! No wonder I used half a bottle in one go! lol No, seriously, I miscalculated but not too badly.

And don't forget that stuff is also for treating water in a new tank - in which case my 88 litre tank would be verging on the capful of your stuff (4 capfuls of the stuff I use - yours must be pretty potent!).

Cheers

Thanks ade! That is pretty much what I thought but it's always good to get a 2nd opinion.

Or maybe it's just a really big cap!

The anti-chlorine chemical i use says to add 2 drops every 5 litres.
