Since the Moss Ball is really a safe algae, will the typical algae eaters chew on it too?  If so, is this a bad thing?   I'm still considering the stock of a 55 gallon, and am a WAYS away from adding more fish.   But I love the kuhli loaches, the little catfish Maybe otos or corys....still not positive what will work) and some shrimp.  Just wondering how the moss ball wil work.

And do they really move around?  I thought 2 or 3 in a "rock" kind of formation would be cool.   But if they move, I'll have to rethink this.

Thanks!

Have never had a moss ball myself so asked some friends. They said it shouldn't move around unless flow is really high, but you would want to turn them periodically as the bottom can rot.
Perhaps glue or tie them together and flip them every once in a while? >.<

No one likes moss balls lol, had a marbled crayfish (total vego and ate all my plants) wouldnt touch the moss balls, although she chewed them up a little, but your fish or snails shouldnt touch it, my yellow rabbit snails, and nerite snails also dont touch it.
And if you get them in a "dead zone" they wont move around, if there is constant filtration everywhere they will flop around like a cooked noodle. :p

Moss balls tend to be more for shrimps rather than fish really as well as decor for inside your tank.
Especailly newly hatched shrimps, they can hide and eat inside a moss ball.

Have not seen any of my snails go on a moss ball.

If moss ball big enough, they won't flop around the tank as Sawicib suggests.
