Hi
I have a Cherax quad who is about 5" long at the moment. She is in a tank on her own (30x18x18") and mostly hides away.
Would it be ok to add a couple of oscars to the tank? The man in the shop said that the oscars may nibble her antennae but apart from that they will be ok together.
I really need to add something of interest to the tank as it just looks empty 99% of the time.
Any imput would be greatly appreciated.
Nik

Unfortunately your tank is too small even for a single oscar. They grow to be a foot long

an 18" Oscar?
Yes, without doubt.. for one ocellatus examples have been reported to grow to about 45 cm (18 in) in length and 1.6 kilograms (3.5 lb) in weight...wiki link
and a fully mature specimen can and will vary to a %.
roll your eyes all you want... then prove it wrong!! or better yet I can get the pictures. It lives at my LFS
