I have a 10 gallon, Im wondering if CFL bulbs are good enough to use for plants, I have a spiral CFL that reads 6500k on a clamp lamp fixture, I'm no expert on lighting at all. So I'm wondering if anyone could clarify if CFL bulbs are a good option
Cheers!

Yes, that is very good light for smallish planted tanks. What wattage is the bulb? I have two 9w CFL 6500K bulbs over my 10g and the same over the 20g and the plants thrive.

These are good bulbs to use in the older incandescent fixtures (the ones that take screw-in bulbs).

Byron.
