Can someone give me some info on this plant, please? I've had this plant for about 2-3 weeks. It grows new branches quite fast, but my catfish shreds it quite often and I ended up with 2 floating branches so I placed the bigger branch around the filter so that it is submerged all the time.
Will the separated branches eventually grow roots like the other ones on the plant?
How can I make more of these plants? I find it impossible to put it in sand, but it came with a basket and I've buried the basket inside the sand. It doesn't stay fully buried for long though, the hoplo removes the sand from its base.

if that is watersprite, it will create small plantlets from the tips of its leaves (apparently).

I now await someone with real plant knowledge to correct me! :)

The way I've seen it grow, it has these cords that are spiraled up and start uncurling until they end up like that nice branch you see in the picture. That's one of its newest branches.

Now, there are these tiny leaves floating at the surface of the water, they look like old leaves. Should I remove them or leave them in the tank? My snail seems to snack on them.

And the branches that are now separated seem to be old ones so I am not sure they will grow any new plants. They don't have any roots either. All roots seem to be growing on the main plant on its branches.
