Ive looked into getting some plants that carpet my tank. Hemianthus call being the plant of choice. Ive got sand as my subsstrate and i dont have the c02 injector kit. Is this going to be a problem for me? will the plant grow ok in the sand, and what type of plant fertiliser or additive is best?

Thanks

Sand and HC dont go well together as its very likely to float up to the surface without something to get its roots into well.

Lilaeopsis is nice and easy. Under gravel/sand fertiliser substrate and getting that co2 might mean you can pull it off :p

Decent lighting is the trick though... because you are looking at very short plants as far away from the lights as possible so you need as strong a lights as possible without being mental. T5s are best.
