I was reading up on planted substrates, and found Eco-complete. It says it's a great substrate but how good is it really? And does it need to be capped? Anyone that uses it how big are the grain sizes?

Hello, I use this substrate in my Arc60, I would say the grain size is medium and my plants seem to like it but I cant honestly say its any better than ordinary substrate.

One thing to bear in mind is that some of the pieces are quite sharp so I wouldnt recommend using it if you have or are thinking of having Corry Cats in your tank.

Cheers

I'm looking for a good substrate to grow plants in. This will be a cherry shrimp tank. I'm looking at tahitian moon sand and it looks really nice and has all the components :hyper: that looks like a good sand, because I'd like to have sand in this tank if the Eco-complete is medium grained.
