Can't Decide!!!

I'm getting my 55 gallon for my birthday that's in two months and I will be relocating my Ropefish in my 30 gallon to it. The tank is going to have lots of plants and a rock cave for my Ropefish, and maybe some driftwood. The thing is though, I can't decide on what else I should put in there! I was thinking of New World Chichlids, but, I've had bad experiances with those types of fish. Should I put in more Oddballs? I really want to hear other peoples thoughts about this. Thanks! Oh yeah, I was thinking about a Curveir's Birchir or, another Ropefish. Would either one be okay for the tank?

I love the NW Cichlids and have had good success with them, so that would be MY choice... I don't know much about ropefish though or what would be compatible with them. The NW Cichlids generally like the softer water, so if that's what you've got then I'd give them a shot

If you are going for an oddball tank.. how about some blind cave fish or (non painted, of course) glass fish?

That sounds pretty cool. I was thinking about getting a Curveir's Birchir. Anyone know if that would be compatable with my Ropefish?
