Can't Decide!

I want to get a Pleco but cant decide which one!

Golden Nugget
Candy Stripe
Leopard Frog
Blue Phantom.......
The choices are endless!!!

Any info that may aid my decision would be greatly appreciated!

Leopard frog without a doubt in my mind. If you get them from a good source they can be absolutely gorgeous and a definite favourite of mine.

Wow, that really is something else. I would say imagine getting a breeding pair, but I really don't know too many people with that much cash to spend on fish lol.
I wonder why they're so expensive... I hope it isn't caused it's a rare/endangered and wild caught.

I think that's pretty irresponsible selling then... I mean I like rare aquatics as a store. But if they really loved fish at all then I don't think that those should be for sale 'to the public'. I think they should only be for sale to people intending on trying to breed them (and who preferably have alot of experience with those types of catfish).

Although I'm getting abit off topic... unless Stureid has a spare few grand... breeding project maybe

I've had a look round the house, no spare money so back to a leopard frog I guess! Maybe ill find a breedig pair of them instead! I felt this was a bit irrisponcible also, should be given to conservationists really

Blue eyes are not extinct, nor is anyone breeding them.

OP, from your list the Candy Stripe will be the cheapest I would imagine.

How long has it been running?

I would advise you get a heater guard.

I'm not worried about which is the cheapest. Tanks been running for 2-3 months if I remember correctly.

I think the issue is the dangers of collecting the plecs more than being extinct as far as Blue eyeds were concerned. Ive seen the ones in Rare Aquatics and owned one about 15 yrs ago and theres loads of cheaper and nicer plecs
For me Blue phantom or green or a sultan plec which isnt on your list but one of my faves

I agree. And I do like the phantoms, maybe not a green one thou as my tanks already quite green!

Get the one you want then.

I wouldn't advise a GN in a tank that new and would also add some more decor whatever you species you decide on

I wasnt planning on getting my Pleco within the next month as I would like the tank more established and so I can find my perfect plec
