hi everyone, i am after some advice really, i have two tanks (as many of you know) but one has awfull colored gravel  I am off to my lfs this afternoon and would like your ideas on which colour/colours to go for? My other tank has very light small gravel but i dont know what to go for with this one

btw its a hex tank, it has an undergravel filter (would love sand but this doesnt work with a ugf), it has no backing (due to it being a hex), oh and it houses one guppie (at the mo) and i would like to add some real plants to this one in the near future :)

Any ideas/suggestions/preferences......thanks

hellooooo. with regards to you having no background, why dont you paint the back black, using blackboard paint, it dries quickly and looks great! outside only!!!!!

With regards to gravel, I wouldn't use anything but natural, toooo many painted gravel slowly letting tooo many nasties into yourwater. why dont you try small cobbles instead or even remove your undergravel and go for sand. I find undergravel filters only hold the crap in place and then eventualy throws all the harmfull stuff back out again, ie, ammonia, nitrites etc. :good:

i like large natural gravel, it looks realistic and natural + the fish dont want pink gravel shining at them! lol

well i have been and come back, we actually went to a new/different lfs/garden centre, and i came back with dorest gravel so its plain natural gravel, was tempted to get some black stuff but i wondered if it would rub off so i went with natural, i went in and saw there fish too and they all looked great and i fell in love with some  but i didnt buy any, i was good
