Whilst doing a water change this evening I discovered that one of my African Dwarf frogs has severed his leg at his ankle. He's having difficulty swimming to the top of the tank for air and is off his food. Is there anything I can do for him or am I going to have to euthanise him? Please can somebody advise.

Bless Him.
Frogs can survive with a missing leg. But I don't know anything about them to offer any advice.
I will move your topic for you so you can get more help, and advice.

Can you isolate him?
Is he trying to chew the severed part of his leg off?
As it really needs removing. Then the wound will need treating.
Also maybe a course of antibiotics to stop infection.
I think he really needs taking to a vet.

Thank-you for moving the post in an attempt to help. Unfortunately the little guy didn't survive the night. I was very sad to find him the following morning at the bottom of the tank with his tank mate (my other A.D. Frog) beside him. May he RIP :(
