Can I Place Tank In Front Of Window?

Can I place my 55 gallon in front of a window? I know that windows are bad for algae growth but I am planning to keep the curtains shut. I need my tank in front of a weight bearing wall and this is the only place that I can put it. Will the support still be the same even though that wall has a window?

windows wont weaken the structure as supporting beams usually run either side and underneath (i was a previous builders labourer) but depending on how old the house is i would just be taking a guess. and check which way the beams run under the floorboards aswell as you must run your tank the opposit way to the beams or it will go through the floor if there is too much weight

The only problem I had with that was all the extra algae from the sunlight. I just scraped it off with a blade every now and again, and the fish enjoyed the nutritious snack it provided
