Can Anyone Id This Macroalgae?

A friend spotted this at a new LFS that opened up. Can anyone ID it? TIA!

There’s a local fish store which has some remarkable macroalgae. Under lights it’s a glowing purple. Absolutely brilliant. This picture I took recently (with the owner’s permission) was shot with a flash and the algae’s color appears to be less uniform and less purple than it does under the aquarium’s lights. I’d love it if someone could identify it and tell me what geographic area it’s from. I asked the owner and he said he didn’t know, that he’d bought a small piece for $120 a decade ago and had been propagating it and selling it since then. I told him if I found out anything about it I’d let him know. (It just *glows* so strikingly purple under the lighting that I’m sure I’m not the only customer who has asked!)

Good name! Catchy and memorable, like the "crazy rasberry ants".

looks like blue codium to me. tends to go beautiful blue under low lighting, but loses a lot of blue under high light.
