Bumble Bee Shrimps

Woo Hoo Picking up 6 Bumble bee shrimps tonight does anyone have any & any advice on keeping them alive???

Read up on anything to do with Crystal Red Shrimp. They're essentially the same species. Cute little things. Best advice would be to give them very clean water and make sure you don't keep them with anything that might eat them...

Bumblebee shrimps are a soft water shrimp an are highly sensitive to bad water params so superclean water is a must.

Yeah they are soft water shrimp same as crystal reds though, PH 6.5 and a KH of between 3 and 5 is ideal for them, temp between 21C and 25, I keep mine at 22C. Super clean water, with not a hint of ammonia or nitrite. Feed them very little nothing like you would feed fish, any uneaten food is best removed after and hour, I leave veg in the tank for a day then remove it if they havent finished it.

Thanks guys they are so cute look a little lost in tank at the mo but am sure they will get a little more curious once they've settled. Got them from gogosnails on e-bay they seem very good Now my mollie has dumped a load of fry in the tank!!!

I'm pretty sure mollies will make a snack of bumblebees, not to mention mollies should net be kept in soft water.
