Hi I hope someone knows all about Bulldog Pleco's - I have had one for a couple of months now and never see him! he was hiding in a hollow mangrove root ornament I have, which was pretty full of his waste and never seemed to surface out of it, so I've put him in another tank where there are not so many hiding places. However, he must have found somewhere as once again he never comes out during the day anyway - I've only seen him a couple of times when I've stayed up til the early hours of the morning.
Is this behaviour normal for this fish? I bought him as the shop said he would be out and about like my Brittlenose and cleaning the tank. I'm a bit worried he's not having enough to eat as the algae is not going down at all so hes not eating that.....I do pop an algae wafer in for him every 2/3 days before I go to bed but at the moment I have no idea if hes alive or not..he was quite expensive and I'm finding him totally boring!! not much point having a fish you never see who hides all the time - maybe I have just got an ultra shy one?
