At one of my LFS there is an area with little bins full of food (flakes) that you scoop into your own bag and pay by the pound. I was wondering what would be more healther, bulk food, or packaged food in the little containers.

Thanks

pre packed....the bulk where u get as much as u want could have lots of contaniments and be quite old for all u know plus people touching it and dust and hair and such

Any fish flakes lose their vitamins very quickly due to light, air and heat. I haven't seen fish food for sale in bulk around here, but it strikes me as a pretty bad idea.

Avoid it like the plague stick with the little sealed containers.

Yup, food looses it's nutrition through light and exposure to air. Best off getting a sealed package, and one that won't last too long (no more then a couple of months).

I use bulk flake around 1/4 of the time. Variety is best, I rotate between the bulk flake, Omega One flake, a home made mix of 3 different flakes I get online, frozen brine shrimp, blood worms, & beefheart.
