i have 2 t5 bulbs , both placed equidistant to the center of the top of the tank.

can anyone that knows better suggest to me an ideal bulb placement , should i seperate them ? as they currently are places 5 inches apart

im thinking maybe have them 12 inches or so apart ?

What wideth is the tank, and are you growing plants?

you know im growing plants because you made a comment on my other thread, lol

1 meter wide 18 deep

Sorry

At one meter wide, I probibly try to get them both over the palnts. If the plants are spread, I'd try to mount one 25cm from the front, and 25cm from the back, to get the best coverage from them. Mounting reflectors behind will also serve to boost the amount of light making it into the tank :good:

Edit to add; the other thread is comming back to me... The plants are at the back aren't they? You would be best from a plant growth point of view, mounting both about 2-3 inches appart at the back, to get most of the light over the plants amongst the wood. This won't do much for fish colours though, as they only show their best when light from the top front. I'd mebe place one 25cm from the back, one for plant growth, and mebe the second right at the front with a colour enhansing tube at the front. Fit a reflector to the front tube to stop yourself being dazzled when you open the hood and to project that light onto the fish :good:

ok great i have reflectors as well so what i thought was closer to the truth has just been confirmed thanks :)
