I have a 55 gallon tank that has a Bak Pak 2 skimmer, and an emporer 400 filter with 1 power head to circulate. My levels are
Ph - 8.3
Amonia - 0
Nitrite - 0
Nitrate - 0
I have had the tank for 3 months with no fish and 52 lbs. of live rock. I have recently had problems with air bubbles. Starting out I thought it was my skimmer so I changed out the air supply line since it looked like it was a little kinked. This made things better but still have the bubbles. Step 2 was to figure out exactly where they were coming from. So I turned everything off except my filter. Ahhh Haaaa!!!! The bubbles where coming from the filter. So Just to make sure I turned off the filter and what do you know the bubbles left instantly. I pulled the filter off and cleaned everything on it and hooked it back up. Seems to of worked some what but still have little and I mean little bubbles in there. Can anyone shine the light on this for me? Is it bad to have some air bubbles? I want to add fish but have heard that it is bad for them.
